Introduction to County Coordinator
Hi I am your county Coordinator - Judi Burns - I don't live in the area, but don't let that stop you from asking questions. I have my resources for finding information and am more than happy to try and help.
However, I CANNOT go to the courthouse or the local newspaper and dig out information. Wish I could :-)
I live in between Rochester and Kewanna of Fulton, Indiana; Winamac, Pulaski, Indiana and Culver, Marshall, Indiana - in other words the 'Boonies' , Boone-docks, or the 'Sticks'.; what ever terminology you want to use for it. I am genealogy enthusiast - my ancestery comes from Greene county Indiana and I have collected everything that I could find about Greene County and its people. My family has been in the Greene county area since the before 1840's .
I am also coordinator for Greene, Owen and Sullivan counties of Indiana.
I have done family research since 1975 - my family lines are from Clay, Greene, and Lawrence counties Indiana.,br>
- Mc Kee, Dye, Gastineau
- Vandeventer, Long, Turley, Sexton
- Emery, Mc Whirter/Mewhirter, Whitworth, Hardesty
- Edington, Williams, Ault, Taylor, Hardesty
Back in 1982 I updated the section on John Emery of Newbury, Massachusetts of which which the Greene county Indiana Emery's descend from and some of the Monroe and Lawrence county Indiana Emery's also descend from these Emery's.
I am in the process of cleaning up my PAF (Personal Ancetral Files) database and trying to organize my computer files after several years of computer problems and trying to salvage what I have. Besides my lines I have worked on my step daughter's and her husband's lines. I also bought 2 Marshall county Indiana genealogies Overmyer and Stahl - at; an auction and other ar a yard sale and put them both in to PAF. I have worked on a friends lines who are are from Carroll and Cass counties Indiana - JJustice, Bussard, Wirick, Barron, Rumbarger, McCombs, and Norris. The Norris line I have put into PAF from a transcript (4 volumes from microfim) and several small genealogies found on the lines.
