Melvin L. Dunk
Melvin L. Dunk, 63, of rural Lafayette, died at 12:29 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Lafayette Home Hospital.
Born March 10, 1945, in Lafayette, he was the son of Everett and Margie Fisher Dunk. He graduated from East Tipp High School in 1963. On July 24, 1965, in Pittsburg, he married Diana Shannon and she survives.
Mr. Dunk worked for Skiles Electric, most recently for 10 years. Before that he was employed at Wise & Wise Farms for 10 years and before that was in the poultry business.
He was a former member of the Pittsburg Church of the Brethren and former member of the Buck Creek Volunteer Fire Dept.
He enjoyed farming and flying.
Surviving with his wife are his parents of Delphi; three sons, Tom Dunk (wife: Shelly) of Lafayette; David Dunk (wife: Shelly) of West Lafayette, and Mike Dunk (wife: Heather) of rural Lafayette; one sister, Linda Merkel (husband: Bob) of West Lafayette; and five grandchildren, Tyler, Courtney, Aiden, Ashley and Tanner.
Services were held Monday at Bodine Funeral Home, Rossville. Pastor Chad Schuitema officiated. Burial followed at Pyrmont Cemetery.
